Mahigpit ang pakikipag-ugnayan ngayon ng Department of Health sa mga opisyal ng Bureau of Quarantine sa Region 7 para malaman ang flight details at iba pang impormasyon tungkol sa 38-anyos na babae mula Wuhan City, China na siyang unang kaso ng 2019 Novel CoronaVirus (N-CoV) sa Pilipinas.
“We requested for the flight detalis. Kung ano yung mga flight carriers na sinakyan ng pasyente at saan pumunta. We also coordinated with the officials in Region 7 and we are looking at the places where they’ve been to in Cebu and Dumaguete,” ani DOH Epidemiology Bureau director Dr. Chito Avelino.
Bukod sa mga lugar na pinuntahan at tinuluyan ng nasabing Chinese national, makikipag-ugnayan din umano ang DOH sa mga pasaherong nakatabi ng pasyente nang bumiyahe ito papuntang Pilipinas.
Pati na ang mga staff na nakasalamuha nito sa mga establisyementong pinuntahan.
“From there, they will do mandatory quarantine to observe them if ever they will manifest any signs and symptoms of the respiratory infection.”
Sa ngayon 29 na indibidwal na ang idineklarang persons under investigation ng DOH.
Ang 23 dito ay kasalukuyang naka-admit sa mga ospital sa Metro Manila, Central, Western at Eastern Visayas, Mimaropa, Northern Mindanao at Davao.
Patuloy namang mino-monitor ang limang iba pa, kahit na-dischage na sila sa pagamutan.
Ayon kay World Health Organization (WHO) Philippines country representative Dr. Rabindra Abeyasinghe, mababa ang mortality rate ng N-CoV kumpara sa ibang straints ng CoronaVirus.
Ito’y kahit nadagdagan pa ang higit 6,000 N-CoV cases sa buong mundo.
“Among all of these cases, as you see there’s only a 132 deaths that have been reported. If you are looking on a mortality rate you’re talking about less than 3-percent deaths. This is much lower than previous CoronaVirus infections.”
Tiniyak naman ni Health Sec. Francisco Duque III na handa at may mga pasilidad ang gobyerno kaugnay ng kaso ng N-CoV.
Mahigpit din umano ang koordinasyon ng binuong Task Force kaugnay ng sakit.
“I will strongly recommend to the Emerging Infectious Diseases Task Force a temporary restriction of travelers from the entire province of Hubei in China. But I believe that will still change, it could expand.”
