Former deputy national security adviser and long-time Ilocos Sur governor Luis “Chavit” Singson has withdrawn his candidacy for senator.
He mentioned that he has health complications from the medications he is taking.
He added that campaigning and working in the Senate are not easy tasks.
He decided not to push through with his candidacy as it would surely affect his health.
Singson was supposed to run as an independent candidate for senator in the mid-term elections in May.
At ayaw kong ipilit kung ang aking kalusugan ang maaaring magdusa,” Singson said in a speech.
