BAGUIO CITY – “This is the first, last and only pageant that I joined. I’ll carry this for the rest of my life.”
“As a child, I definitely wanted to be an astronaut. I was very nerdy. Eventually, I wanted to be just like my parents who pursued business. Then, I was working in business. I was probably working in corporate for about three years before I decided that I was going to try out for Miss Philippines Earth.”
“I chose to join Miss Philippines Earth because I advocate for health and fitness. I work in the fitness industry. Before I joined, I was going around Marikina and teaching kids how to do proper hand washing. Joining [the pageant], my inspiration was really the kids.”
“For the preparations, it was really hard because I pretty much procrastinated. From zero experience! I crammed yung pag-aaral nung styling, make-up, pagrampa, modeling. I crammed it into a few months. It was very intense but at the same time a very character building experience.”
“If any of us joined in any other year, then, hindi na kami yung magkakasama for a year. There’s an aspect na tinadhana talaga. It’s something that I cherish. I really genuinely learned from each of the girls. The five of us are all so different. Somehow, we got to really get along. We got to grow together which is really beautiful.”
“If you’re a candle, you don’t lose anything by sharing your flame with another candle. Even passing on the crown, it’s not going to take away any of the responsibilities. Being Miss Philippines Fire for 2019 is something that I will carry for the rest of my life. I’m really just excited to welcome someone else to the family.”
“I feel like after seeing everything that they’ve been doing, they just have like a different level of tenacity, of drive, to be able to pull off what they’re doing given the circumstances. It’s a new level of tiyaga, determination and resourcefulness. It’s actually very inspiring.”
“I launched two online businesses during the lockdown. I will be continuing that.”
