Lusot na ng House committee on appropriations ang funding provisions ng panukalang sisingit ng reporma sa real property valuation and assessment sa bansa.

Inaprubahan ng komite ang budgetary provision ng panukala, na naglalayong paglaanan ng P58 million para sa pagtatag ng Real Property Valuation Service sa ilalim ng Bureau of Local Government Finance para sa susunod na taon.

Iginiit ni House Committee on Government Reorganization chair Mario Vittorio Marino na ang panukalang ito ay isa sa mga priority bills ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

Sinabi ni Marino na layon ng panukalang ito na magkaroon ng wasto, pantay-pantay, at efficient na real property valuation system sa bansa.

“The reform will broaden the tax base for local and national property and property-related taxes and expedite valuation based government activities, such as right-of-way acquisition and administration of land transfer taxes,” ani Marino.

“This will neither impose new taxes nor increase current tax rates,” dagdag pa nito.
