Promoter Eddie Hearn is confident that they have the approval of heavyweights Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury to go for an undisputed match in 2021.
Ever since Joshua reclaimed his unified, (WBA, WBO, IBF) belts, Hearn has been busy pursuing Fury’s camp for the undisputed bout.
“We’re making great progress. There is still a lot to overcome. We are looking at venues and dates,” he said on an interview with Sky Sports.
Fury, the WBC champion, earlier said he would go for a trilogy with Deontay Wilder than fighting Joshua, however, the undisputed title match seems to be inevitable.
“We’re in a good place. It’s fair to say that, in principle, both guys have agreed to that fight. Two fights,” Hearn added.
“(There’s) a lot to overcome in the meantime. We’re moving in the right direction. I’m confident that both guys have given their blessings for the fight to go ahead.”
