Aabot na umano sa 108-milyong doses ng COVID-19 vaccine ang na-secure ng Pilipinas.
Sa weekly address ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, sinabi ni vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. na lumagda na ang bansa ng limang term sheet sa iba’t ibang mga vaccine manufacturers.
“On our negotiations, we have already signed the term sheet of five. We have already locked in the supply of 106 to 108 million doses including po yung sa single dose,” wika ni Galvez.
Hndi naman tinukoy ni Galvez kung anong mga kompanya ang magsu-suplay sa bansa ng COVID-19 vaccines.
Una nang inanunsyo ng gobyerno na makapag-secure na raw sila ng mga bakuna sa Sinovac ng China, AstraZeneca ng United Kingdom, maging sa Pfizer at Moderna ng Estados Unidos, at Serum Institute ng India.
“All in all, by this February, second week, we’re trying to come up with the supply agreements with the vaccine manufacturers and we will also include the two remaining contracts we are negotiating,” ani Galvez.
“We are expecting up to 146 to 148 million doses. This is excluding the COVAX [facility where] we are assured to have more or less 40 million doses,” dagdag nito.
Inaasahan aniyang nasa 5.6-milyong COVID-19 vaccines mula Pfizer at AstraZeneca ang makukuha ng Pilipinas sa unang quarter ng taon.
