Nagnegatibo sa coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) ang lahat ng mga manlalaro ng Barangay Ginebra, Magnolia Hotshots, at San Miguel Beermen makaraang sumailalim sa testing noong nakaraang linggo.
Ito ay batay sa naging anunsyo ni San Miguel Corporation (SMC) president and chief operating officer Ramon Ang.
Dagdag ni Ang, bagamat mahalaga ang sports sa bansa, kailangang ikonsidera nang husto ang pag-iingat sa COVID-19 bago pag-isipan ang pagbabalik ng contact sports.
“We defer to the government’s wisdom and decision on when team-based leagues like the PBA will return especially if people’s lives are at stake. While we all miss the PBA, we need to first create a safe environment to limit the spread of the virus,” wika ni Ang.
Maaari rin umanong makibahagi ang PBA sa mga ginagawang recovery efforts sa pamamagitan ng palagiang pagsusuri para sa lahat ng mga nasa liga.
“Our players and employees have nothing to be worried about as we have assured that they will continue to receive their salaries and health benefits. And we have constantly reminded our players as well as other employees to strictly follow health protocols during this time,” ani Ang.
Tiniyak din ng business magnate na mahigpit na ipatutupad ang mga protocols sakaling payagan na ang pagpapatuloy ng training ng mga players sa mga darating na buwan.
