The Golden Boy Promotions headed by Oscar De la Hoya will be back in the ring in late July, a later date than expected.
Ryan Garcia, who was supposed to be biggest name for its return backed out for the fight after refusing to accept the offer. Instead, Vergil Ortiz will take place.
Garcia has become a popular boxer with still unbeaten record 20 wins with 17 knockouts.
The young fighter is also dominating the social media platform with its millions of followers in Instagram.
It was ideal for the Golden Boy to put Garcia to attract viewers, however, the financial talks fell off.
While Ortiz is also unbeaten and a prospect, Garcia’s name is way popular.
But despite what happened, De la Hoya will still go for Ortiz to headline their comeback after the coronavirus shut down all sports.
