The Government is ready to provide free rides on routes that will be affected by the pending three-day traffic stop next week in Metro Manila in conjunction with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s second State of the Nation Address.

According to LTFRB Chairperson Teofilo Guadiz III, there are two to three routes in the National Capital Region that have been identified as covered by the transport strike initiative of the Manibela group starting from July 24 to July 26.

Guadiz said they have already talked to the bus companies and other jeepney associations to provide free rides for the routes affected by the strike to fill the lack of public transportation.

To recall, the Manibela group announced that their stop-pass plan will continue as a protest against the government’s PUV modernization program.

But the LTFRB warned that jeepney drivers who violate the law by joining the transport strike may face penalties including the revocation of their franchise.
