Hindi pabor ang isang grupo ng Maranao sa plano ng pamahalaan na gawing military camp ang main battle area sa Marawi City at magtatag ng ecozone sa siyudad.
Apela ng Ranaw Multi-Sectoral Movement kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na huwag ituloy ang plano dahil hindi naman kinunsulta ang mga residente ng Marawi.
Ayon sa grupo, tila naitsa pwera ang mga Maranao sa planong rehabilitasyon ng Duterte government para sa kanilang siyudad.
Dagdag pa ng grupo, nabigla na lamang sila ng iprisinta sa kanila ni Task Force Bangon Marawi chairperson and Housing And Urban Development Coordinating Council Secretary Eduardo del Rosario at National Economic and Development Authority Undersecretary for Regional Development Adoracion Navarro sa isinagawang multi-sectoral consultation na ginanap nuong March 21 at 22.
Sa pahayag na inilabas ng grupo, “Plans have been made without our participation. Plans that neither bear the stamp of our will nor reflect our culture. Plans whose mechanics and implementation are not clear to us. But one thing is clear, the people of Marawi are largely left out.”
Ayon pa sa grupo, hindi man lamang sila pinakinggan kung ano ang nais ng mga Maranao para sa kanilang bayan.
“Mr. President, please put a stop to the proposed ecozone and military camp plans until we have been heard, until our dreams and aspirations, our cultural sensitivities and out fairt find expression in the rebuilding of Marawi City, our home,” dagdag pa sa official statement ng grupo.
