Ipinagdiriwang ng pamahalaang lokal ng Dapitan sa Zamboanga del Norte ang “Handuraw Festival 2021” bilang paggunita sa ika-125th Martyrdom ng Pambansang Bayani na si Dr. Jose Rizal kahapon, kahapon December 30,2021.
Ayon kay Dapitan City Tourism Officer Ms. Apple Marie Agolong, ang mga aktibidad na kanilang inihanda ay para gunitain ang naging buhay ni Rizal habang naka-exile ito sa siyudad noon.
Kabilang sa mga aktibidad ay ang “Tagisan ng Talinong Rizal Quiz Competition” at ang “Anyo Arnis Competition.”
Sinabi ni Agolong ang Arnis ay isa sa mga sports na itinuro ni Rizal sa kaniyang mga estudyante nuon.
” Dapitan is celebrating Handuraw 2021, as we all know yung Handuraw Festival ng Dapitan is really inclined to reminish the life of Dr Jose Rizal while he was here in Dapitan as an exile. So it was being opened with the Anyo Arnis competition. Arnis is one of the many sports being taught by Rizal to his students and Arnis is also the national sports of the Philippines,” pahayag ni Ms. Agolong.
Binigyang-diin din ni Agolong na ang nasabing festival ay ang pinagsama-samang historical, cultural,social and economic elements ng siyudad na kilalang City of Shrine.

Highlight din sa nasabing festival ang Jose Rizal and Josephine Bracken Impersonation Competition at Kaluto ni Rizal Cooking Competition.
