Tatalikuran na umano nina Prince Harry at Meghan ang paggamit sa kanilang titulong “royal highness” at hindi na rin daw makatatangap pa ng pondo para sa kanilang royal duties.
Ito’y makaraang ianunsyo ng Duke and Duchess of Sussex na iiwanan na nila ang kanilang papel bilang senior members ng British royal family.
Sa anunsyo ng Buckingham Palace, kailangan nilang bayaran ang $3.1-milyon o katumbas ng halos P160-milyon na kanilang ginastos sa pag-renovate ng Frogmore Cottage na kanilang official residence.
Bilang bahagi ng kasunduan, hindi na rin maaari pang katawanin ng dalawa si Queen Elizabeth II sa anumang okasyon, at naiintindihan din daw ng dalawa na kailangan nilang talikdan ang kanilang royal duties, kasama na ang opisyal na military appointments.
Sa pahayag pa ng palasyo, magiging epektibo ang panibagong deal sa darating na tagsibol.
“While they can no longer formally represent the Queen, the Sussexes have made clear that everything they do will continue to uphold the values of Her Majesty,” saad sa pahayag.
“The Sussexes will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working members of the Royal Family.”
Sa hiwalay namang pahayag, sinabi ni Queen Elizabeth II na naiintindihan niya raw ang pinanggagalingan ng dalawa.
“I recognize the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life,” wika ni Elizabeth.
