CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The provincial government of Iligan City has put the whole province under a state of calamity due to the surge of dengue cases from January to August 2019.

The province has recorded 2,000 dengue cases in which 15 patients died.

In an interview of Bombo Radyo, Iligan City information officer Joe Pantoja confirmed that the city government allotted P8 million to be used by affected baranggays.

Iligan City Mayor Celso Regencia asked the City Council to pass a resolution declaring a state of calamity to enable the city mobilize its 20-percent emergency fund.

Next to Cagayan De Oro, Iligan is now the second-highest city with high fatalities recorded for this year.

Meanwhile, Cagayan de Oro City has 2,000 dengue cases where 20 patients died.
