Lusot na sa US House Judiciary Committee ang dalawang impeachment charges kontra kay President Donald Trump, na siyang krusyal na yugto bago ito pagbotohan ng House of Representatives.
Inaprubahan ang naturang hakbang sa botong 23-17, kung saan inaakusahan si Trump ng pag-abuso sa kapangyarihan at obstruction of Congress, kaugnay pa rin ng kontrobersya sa Ukraine.
Dahil dito, nasa Kamara ng Amerika na ang articles of impeachment at inaasahang pagbobotohan nila ito sa susunod na linggo.
“Today is solemn and sad day,” wika ni committee chairman Jerry Nadler. “The House will act expeditiously.”
Binanatan naman ni White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham ang ginawang pagboto na umano’y shameful end” sa isang “desperate charade.”
“The president looks forward to receiving in the Senate the fair treatment and due process which continues to be disgracefully denied to him by the House,” ani Grisham. (Reuters)
