All we’re excited about the upcoming fight of Conor McGregor and Manny Pacquiao early next year, but, it seemed like the tides have turned.
McGregor revealed that he accepted a UFC fight against Dustin Poirier which will happen in January 2021.
The decision put many into confusion since they already stated that they are planning to carry out the boxing match in the early stages of 2021 in Dubai.
However, McGregor told that the fight against Poirier will be part of his preparation for Pacquiao.
What was supposed to be an exhibition match turned into a UFC fight.
According to an interview, McGregor accepted the fight because he will benefit from it. He will earn and will learn.
Although it will be a mixed martial art bout, Poirier is a southpaw which means McGregor will be able to learn how left-handed like Pacquiao moves.
But will his January fight not contradict to Pacquiao’s fight plan in 2021?
Pacquiao also has two options. To fight a challenger appointed by the WBC for his welterweight belt or be stripped of it to fight McGregor.
Will problems arise soon for their potential fight due to the McGregor-Poirier match?
Will he also be able to switch sports in a short period? Right after his MMA match?
McGregor is obviously on the wrong end of the stick for this but will he be able to overcome?
