As most people expected, reigning back-to-back MVP, Nikola Jokic is signing his supermax deal with the Denver Nuggets.
The Serbian superstar agreed to a five-year $264 million supermax contract, the biggest deal in the history of the NBA.
Jokic averaged 27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 7.9 assists in the 2021-22 NBA season while holding the league’s player efficiency rating (PER) at 32.94.
Although the Nuggets exited the post-season in the hands of the eventual NBA champion Golden State Warriors, Denver has all the rights to offer the 27-year-old superstar the richest deal in NBA history.
The $60 million player option in his fifth and final year of the contract is included in the deal.
