Dinipensa ni JTF Covid Shield Commander P/Lt.Gen. Guillermo Elazar ang maraming presensiya ng mga SAF commando at sundalo sa Cebu City para tumulong sa pagpapatupad sa striktong quarantine protocols ngayong balik sa Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) ang siyudad na itinuring ngayon na epicenter ng Covid-19 virus.
Sinabi ng heneral hindi kalaban ang mga pulis at sundalo ng mga Cebuano.
Sa katunayan kaisa ang PNP at AFP ng mga Cebuano para labanan ang paglaganap ng nakakamatay na virus.
Nasa 150 SAF commando ang kasalukuyang nasa Cebu para tumulong sa pagpapatupad ng quarantine protocols.
Ito ay bukod pa sa presensiya ng mga sundalo na idineploy ng AFP Central Command.
“We are not your enemy. We are on the same side in fighting the real enemy which is the coronavirus. While we do our share in fighting the coronavirus by taking every street and every border as our frontline, we expect the people to do their fair share by protecting their homes as their own frontline. This is our battle plan, and this is how we will win this fight,” pahayag ni Eleazar.
Kahapon, personal na binisita ni Eleazar ang Cebu City para inspeksyunin ang implementasyon ng quarantine duon.
Kasama ni Eleazar na bumisita sa Cebu ay si PMGen. Emmanuel Licup, director ng Directorate for Operations, nais matiyak ng dalawang opisyal na in-placed ang ipinapapatupad na security and quarantine measures.
Kasama ng dalawang top PNP officials sa inspection ay sina Police Major General Israel Ephraim Dickson, Director of the Integrated Police Operations- Visayas; at SAF Director, Police Major General Amando Clifton Empiso.
Nagsagawa din ng aerial inspection si Eleazar sa Cebu upang imonitor ang mga lugar na hindi sumusunod sa quarantine protocols.
Nag-ikot din ang heneral sa iba’t- ibang quarantine checkpoints.
Binigyang-diin ng heneral na proven effective ang deployment ng mga SAF troopers at sundalo sa mga lugar na hindi sumusunod sa quarantine protocols lalo na nuong ECQ sa Metro Manila.
Umapela si Eleazar sa mga Cebuano na hanggat maaari iwasan lumabas ng bahay.
