Tiniyak ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) na ngayong taon ay matatapos na ang konstruksyon ng huling bahagi ng Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX).
Ito ay nagkakahalaga ng higit P24-bilyon at may habang 89.31-kilometers mula Tarlac City hanggang Rosario, La Union.
“This year, we will also complete the remaining section of Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX),” ani DPWH Sec. Mark Villar.
Sa ilalim ng proyekto, inaasahang bibilis pa ng tatlong oras ang biyahe ng mga motorista na pupunta sa naturang bahagi ng Central at Northern Luzon.
Ayon kay Villar, puspusan na rin ang kanilang ginagawang pag-aaral para sa konstruksyon ng planong Panay-Guimaras-Negros Link Bridge at Davao City Expressway ngayong taon.
“On top of that, DPWH also aims to construct under President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s administration, a total of 1,101 kilometers of new high-standard highways and expressways in Luzon, Cebu, and Davao and implement the Luzon Spine Expressway Network Program that will cut travel time from Ilocos to Bicol from 19 hours to just eight hours,” dagdag ng kalihim.
