The killer of overseas Filipino workers, Jullebee Ranara, was sentenced to up to 15 years in prison by a court in Kuwait.
Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed the sentence of up to 15 years in prison for murder and one year in prison for driving without a license.
The DFA explained that the punishment was reduced because the accused was a minor.
He has up to 30-days to appeal the judgment against him by the Court of First Instance.
To recall, the body of 35-year-old Ranara was found in a desert that was burned in January.
The 17-year-old son of Ranara’s boss who allegedly raped him and even got the victim pregnant was arrested.
Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has already assured that they will hold the suspect who killed Ranara accountable.
