Lamont Roach’s denial of the canceled fight against Gervonta “Tank” Davis sparks “Davis vs Magsayo” showdown on March 1, 2025 in Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Sean Gibbons’ son Brendan Gibbons of Viva Promotions, revealed in social media that Magsayo is considered as a replacement if Roach vs Davis will not happen after the postponed fight last December 2024.
It can be recalled that Davis posted last December 2024 that the fight was canceled with no apparent reason. However, Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) didn’t say any statement about the cancellation that made it a hoax.
Undefeated Davis (30 wins, 0 loss) must defend his WBA lightweight title against WBA super featherweight champ Roach (25 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw) but boxing fans make Magsayo (27 wins, 2 losses) a better challenger to Davis.
Magsayo is a former WBC featherweight champion and now has the WBA Intercontinental super featherweight belt.
As of this writing, Roach vs Davis is still on.
