.President Rodrigo Duterte signed the Republican Act no. 11549 or the law decreasing the minimum height requirement of applicants of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, and Bureau of Corrections (BuCor)
Under the law, from the current 1.62 meters for male applicants, the minimal height requirement was dropped to 1.57 meters.
From the current 1.57 meters that minimum height for female applicants, it has dropped to 1.52 meters.
The CNP, BFP, BJMP, and BuCor are outraged by implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) for it.
President Duterte signed this law, May 26, 2021. And it will be effective 15 days after being published in the newspapers.
