House of Representatives urged the senate to approve the bill establishing the permanent evacuation centers in cities and municipalities.
The House Bill 7354 proposed temporary shelter and comfortable accommodation for people who are victims of disasters, calamities or other unexpected circumstances.
It garnered 307 yes votes from the house of representatives, 1 no vote and zero abstention.
“We hope that now, Malacañang and the leadership of the Senate would heed our call to expedite the passage of a similar bil and Malacanang should classify the bill as urgent,” said House Deputy Minority Leader and ACT Teachers Party-list Rep. France Castro.
Representative Castro added that it is better to have disaster resilient evacuation centers for every 2 or 3 baranggays.
They are hoping for the approval of the senate and for the implementation of this on the year 2024.
