Nilinaw ng Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines (ABAP) na hindi pa umano pinal ang mga pangalang kasama sa line-up ng boxing team ng bansa na sasabak sa 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.
Ayon kay ABAP secretary-general Ed Picson, maaari pa raw nilang palitan ang sinumang boksingero na bigong makaabot sa criteria ng coaching staff.
“We reserve the right to replace any boxer who does not live up to the criteria set by the coaching staff, which includes not only performance in the ring or the gym, but also in terms of punctuality, attitude, and overall behavior,” wika ni Picson.
“All the teams are allowed to replace any boxer until the official weigh-in, which is a day before the competition starts on December 3,” dagdag nito.
Babandera sa Philippine boxing team sa SEA Games ang middleweight na si Eumir Marcial, na nakasungkit ng silver medal sa katatapos lamang na World Boxing Championship.
Kabilang din sa listahan sina Carlo Paalam (light flyweight), Rogen Ladon (flyweight), Ian Clark Bautista (bantamweight), Charly Suarez (lightweight), James Palicte (light welterweight), Joel Bacho (welterweight), at John Tupas-Marvin (light heavyweight).
Habang sina Josie Gabuco (light flyweight), Irish Magno (flyweight), Aira Villegas (bantamweight), Nesthy Petecio (featherweight), at Risa Pasuit (lightweight) ang sa women’s team.
