KORONADAL CITY – South Cotabato second district representative and Deputy Speaker for Mindanao Atty. Ferdinand Hernandez encouraged the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) to finish their road project in Brgy. Lamsalome, Tboli, South Cotabato.
At least 20 people died after a forward truck fell into a ravine in the said barangay on Tuesday, September 17.
The authorities are still looking for a possible reason on why the incident happened and one of these is the lack of road safety equipment, Deputy Speaker Hernandez said in an interview with Bombo Radyo Koronadal.
The lawmaker will also write a letter addressed to Secretary Carlito Galvez, Presidential Peace Adviser on Peace Process to look on the said projects under the “Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan” (PAMANA) program in order to avoid the same incident in happening again.
The road projects was part of government’s livelihood aid to former members of Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) currently living in the town.
