Due to injuries Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic chemistry failed in the second half of the season, as the Mavericks ended 11th in the West.

Shooting guard and point guard Doncic ran out of time in forging connections with Irving
that led to the Mavericks’ fall. Dallas went 5-11 in the games.

It can be recalled that Irving traded in Dallas last February 2023. Dallas thought that eight-time All-Star guard could help them in Western Conference but to no avail.

Irving was traded to the Mavericks after the Brooklyn Nets owner Joseph Tsai did not let him go to Los Angeles Lakers.

According to an ESPN report, Doncic and Irving are targeting intelligent, defensive-minded role players.

“It takes time to do chemistry, especially on the court, so we didn’t have the whole training camp and then I mean the preseason too. So I think it’s going to be way better.” Luka said.
