Dinepensahan ni Health Sec. Francisco Duque III ang mga opisyal ng PhilHealth kasunod ng kontrobersya hinggil sa umano’y ghost dialysis treatment.
Sa isang panayam sinabi ni Duque na hindi naman nagkukulang ang ahensya sa pagtugon sa lumutang na problema dahil sa mas mahigpit na mga repormang pinatutupad ng kasalukuyang pinuno nito.
Kaugnay nito, nagbanta ang kalihim, na nagsisilbi ring ex-officio chairman ng PhilHealth, sa mga ospital na nananamantala sa pagkubra ng medical claims ng mga pasyente.
Ani Duque, may karampatang parusa ang mga mapapatunayang sangkot sa sinasabing pekeng dialysis cases.
Nauna ng sinabi ni PhilHealth spokesperson Dr. Gigi Domingo na iniimbestigahan na nila ang nasa halos 9,000 parehong kaso, gayundin na may mga opisyal na ng WellMed na inireklamo.
Sa ngayon inatasan na ng Malacañang ang management ng PhilHealth na sampahan ng kasong kriminal ang mga opisyal at empleyado na sangkot sa kontrobersya.
“The Palace views with deep concern the allegations of irregularities involving PhilHealth, particularly those with regard to the reported anomalies in connection with bogus kidney dialysis treatments,” ani Presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo.
Pinag-susumite rin daw ng pangulo si PhilHealth Acting Pres. Roy Ferrer ng detalyadong report ukol sa umano’y ghost dialysis treatment.
“The President directs the management of the PhilHealth to institute criminal actions against those officials and employees who wittingly or unwittingly allowed such misuse of funds to take place for years.”
“The President instructs the institution’s acting president to submit a detailed report on these irregularities. We will put a stop to this corruption and we will make sure that the law on universal health care is strictly enforced.”
