The pandemic halted the possible return of Senator Manny Pacquiao this year.
Hence, he is planning to make up for it by fighting twice next year.
In an interview with the Daily Tribune, the now 42-year old Pacquiao stated that he feels like he can have two fights in 2021.
“I think I can do two [fights] next year,” he said.
Although he guaranteed that his expected return will be after March since they still have sessions in the Senate.
If the only eight-weight champion decided to come back in summer, his next fight of the year would probably be a year-ender.
It was 2019 when Pacquiao fought twice again in a single year.
He only fought once from 2016-2018. This is the time where people are questioning if Pacquiao is already going to retire.
There are his fellow top welterweights, Errol Spence Jr., and Terrence Crawford for his possible opponents. The champions of the division have their eyes at each other. Both Spence and Crawford want to fight Pacquiao, so does Pacquiao. However, Spence and Crawford may end up fighting each other as well, leaving Pacquiao out.
Still, it won’t be much of a problem for the veteran boxer as he still has several suitors in the name of Shawn Porter and Danny Garcia. I remembered he also announced his fight with UFC superstar Conor McGregor.
Boxers will always be honored and welcome to fight Pacquiao; the decision is upon the fighting senator on who he will fight.
