As the Lenten season begins with Ash Wednesday, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. tweets that he hopes Filipinos will have a “quiet reflection.”
“We pray for our nation’s quiet reflection… As we prepare for the season of Lent, may the love of Christ inspire us to endure and faithfully continue our service to others,” said Marcos on his twitter account.
Ash is placed on Catholics’ foreheads to mark the start of Lent, which lasts for about 40 days and ends on Easter Sunday, which is April 9 this year.
Ash Wednesday services will once again be observed, according to a circular from the Archdiocese of Manila.
