On Wednesday, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. declared there would be no timeline for the probe he had ordered into agricultural smuggling.

Marcos told reporters that he will permit the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) to look into claims of agricultural product hoarding, smuggling, and price fixing.

“Hindi ako mahilig magbigay ng deadline. Siyempre gusto ko matapos nila nang maaga pero kailangan tapos, hindi hilaw,” Marcos said.

On Tuesday, Marcos, who also serves as the head of the Department of Agriculture (DA), gave the DOJ and the NBI orders to look into the illegal export of onions and other agricultural products.
