Itinalaga ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang aktor at dating Pampanga Gov. Mark Lapid bilang board member ng Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA).
Ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, epektibo ang appointment kay Lapid sa TIEZA noon pang Ener 5.
“Tourism is one of the most important sectors of our economy, and the appointment of Mr. Lapid, who is no stranger to TIEZA, augurs well in contributing to the recovery and growth of tourism, which has been affected by the pandemic,” wika ni Roque.
Kung maaalala, si Mark, na anak ni Sen. Lito Lapid, ang COO ng nasabing ahensya noong termino ni dating Pangulong Benigno Aquino III.
Nagbitiw ito sa kanyang puwesto noong 2016 upang tumakbo bilang senador.
Noong 2018 nang maharap ito sa kasong graft, kasama nina dating Tourism Sec. Wanda Tulfo-Teo at iba pang mga opisyal, dahil sa umano’y maanomalyang kasunduan para sa operasyon ng sewerage system ng Boracay.
