BAGUIO CITY – Ibinahagi ng isang American film actor at screenwriter na nagpapasalamat silang mga nasa animation industry dahil kahit may krisis sa COVID-19 pandemic ay maaari pa rin silang makapagtrabaho kahit sila ay nasa bahay lamang.
Sa exclusive interview ng Star FM Baguio kay Peter Gardner, na gumanap bilang “Han Solo” sa Star Wars short comedy film na “The Trial of Han Solo” noong 2005, ikinuwento nito na sa kasalukuyan ay ginagamit niya ang panahon ng quarantine para tapusin ang kanyang animated series na “Adventures with the Caretaker” na nakatakdang ilabas sa streaming service na Netflix.
“I’m producing an animated show for kids. I was busy, primarily, supervising the animation which is taking place in India. It’s a TV show, and when everything sort of stopped, I had to tell them, ‘Let’s hold off for a few weeks’. We’re taking it to Netflix right now.”
Sinabi rin ng screenwriter na di tulad ng mga live action productions, ang animation industry ay maaari pang mabuhay sa panahong ito at tiyak na makapaglalabas pa ng maraming mga proyekto ang iba’t ibang animation studios.
“Because Hollywood is so shut down and no live action productions can happen right now because of the pandemic, animated content, or animated shows, they’re really needed, because that’s the one thing you can actually create in production right now, since you can’t go on a movie studio lot or into a sound stage or even on location, and do any live action shooting right now because of social distancing, that’s the biggest change. In a way, I was fortunate that the project that I was working on happened to be something that was animated.”
Inamin rin naman nito na naantala rin ang isa sa kanyang mga proyekto.
“I have a live action script that Netflix is looking at but that’s completely on hold because nobody really knows how long it’s going to be before production gets going.”
Hiling rin naman nito na sana ay matapos na ang krisis na nararanasan sa mundo para makapagpatuloy na ang maraming industriya sa pagtatrabaho, kabilang na ang entertainment industry na kanyang kinabibilangan.
Sinabi rin nito na dahil naman sa mga nangyayari ay tunay na nakikita ang pagtutulungan ng maraming tao sa mundo.
“No one really knows for sure. But just like everybody else in the world, nobody has a crystal ball. But I think this has truly brought us together. Because this is a worldwide pandemic, it’s bringing out a lot of humanity. I’m wishing everybody the best.”
