BACOLOD CITY – Members of 303rd Infantry Brigade (IB0) arrested an alleged New People’s Army child-warrior after an encounter in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental on Sunday.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo Bacolod, 303rd IB commander Brigadier General Benedict Arevalo confirmed the arrest of a 13-year old rebel allegedly a member of Communist Party of the Philippines’ armed wing NPA.
According to Arevalo, the alleged child warrior is capable of using armaments just like any other NPA member.
Meanwhile, the child rebel is now under the custody of Department of Social Welfare in Development (DSWD)
