Movie and Television Review and Classificication Board (MTRCB) sees nothing wrong in selected cinema’s decision with putting Chinese subtitles on Avengers: Endgame.
MTRCB chairperson Rachel Arenas said that distributors originally provided two versions of the movie–one with Chinese subtitles and one without.
She also encouraged cinemas to appropriately inform their customers about the special screenings since most of the moviegoers bought their tickets in advance and was not informed about the said subtitles.
Several cinemas insisted that their sole purpose is to promote cultural diversity in the Philippines and also for the sake of foreign-speaking moviegoers who wants to watch the most-awaited movie of the year.
However, they announced on Monday that tickets will be refundable if customers do not want to watch the movie with Chinese subtitles.
