The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) reviewed over 267,000 materials in 2024, a significant increase from previous years.
Among the reviewed materials were:
- 264,424 television programs
- 592 films
- 549 movie trailers
- 1,525 publicity and optical media materials
Film classifications included:
- 30 films rated G (suitable for all audiences)
- 298 films rated PG (Parental Guidance)
- 251 films rated R
- 13 films rated X (not suitable for public viewing)
Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto-Antonio emphasized the Board’s dedication to proper media classification despite manpower and resource limitations. She acknowledged the efforts of the 31 Board Members, who work tirelessly to ensure age-appropriate ratings while respecting freedom of expression.

The MTRCB also achieved various milestones, including partnerships, international participation, and the launch of the “Responsableng Panonood Tungo sa Bagong Pilipinas” campaign.
As 2024 concludes, Sotto-Antonio reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to promoting responsible viewing and supporting the Philippine creative industry in 2025 and beyond.
