Itinatag ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang isang national task force para pigilan ang pagpasok ng mga animal-borne diseases, gayundin para ma-contain at ma-control ang pagkalat nito sa bansa.
Nakapaloob ito sa Executive Order No. 105 na nilagdaan ni Pangulong Duterte nitong Pebrero 21 at epektibo agad.
Ito ay bunsod na rin ng pagkalat ng African swine fever (ASF) sa bansa na matindi na ang epekto sa hog industry.
Ang National Task Force on Animal-Borne Diseases (NTFAD) ay pamumunuan ng Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary habang Vice Chairperson ang Department of Health (DOH) Secretary.
Miyembro naman ang Executive Secretary; Secretary, Department of the Interior and Local Government; Secretary, Department of Environment and Natural Resources; Secretary, Department of Trade and Industry; Secretary, Department of Finance; Secretary, Department of Budget and Management (DBM); Secretary, Department of Social Welfare and Development; Secretary, Department of Foreign Affairs; Secretary, Department of Transportation; Secretary, Department of National Defense Secretary, Department of Labor and Employment; Secretary, Department of Justice; Secretary, Department of Tourism; Commissioner, Bureau of Customs; at Director General g Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
Pangunahin sa mandato ng task force ang pagbuo ng kinauukulang polisya, mga regulasyon at measures para matugunan ang animal-borne diseases gaya nv ASF virus kung saan halos 70,000 baboy na ang pinatay sa pamamagitan ng culling.
Manggagaling ang funding sa task force sa mga pondo ng member-agencies.
