The number of NBA superstars asking to be traded been pretty high recently; if anything, it affects the league’s image.
During the annual NAB Board of Governors meeting, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said he didn’t like it.
This is after Kevin Durant requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets.
“Look, this needs to be a two-way street. Teams provide enormous security (and) guarantees to players,” Silver said.
“The expectation is, in return, that they’ll meet their end of the bargain. I’m realistic that there’s always going to be conversations that go on behind closed doors between players, their representatives, and the teams, but we don’t like to see players requesting trades. We don’t like to see it playing out the way it is.”
And he’s right about it, NBA superstars may get what they want, but they’ll leave their team and the league itself in a bad image.
