National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Maj. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar confirmed that they already placed Metro Manila under a full alert status in preparation for President’s Rodrigo Duterte’s fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, July 22.
Philippine National Police (PNP) has deployed at least 14,000 police personnel to maintain peace and order as well as the security of everyone during SONA.
28,000 members of NCRPO were already on standby and ready to be deployed on places where they are needed.
Around 9,162 police are also expected to secure safety around Batasang Pambansa Complex and in areas where pro and anti Duterte rallyists will conduct their protests.
The deployment will start at 5 a.m. Monday, Eleazar noted.
