NGCP statement on the conduct of repair and restoration of their lines and facilities:
There is information going around on NGCP’s one month restoration timeline for Typhoon Odette. NGCP will release its restoration schedule after completion of its damage assessment. All official and authorized communications will be released via our official social media pages on Facebook and Twitter.
NGCP is simultaneously restoring lines and conducting damage assessment through foot patrols and aerial inspections.
Our aerial inspections were delayed when our choppers were forced to turn around and return to base yesterday by aviation authorities due to unsafe weather conditions. Nevertheless, on the ground efforts continue. Today’s clearer weather allowed us to proceed with aerial inspections, which we hope will be completed this morning to give us a full picture of the nature and extent of damage.
We will then be able to give a more accurate estimate for restoration completion. We aim to release the official restoration schedule within the day.
