Out of the three contenders for MVP, Nikola Jokic is on the verge of seizing it as Victor Wembanyama has the biggest chance for one to two awards.
WInners will grab the Michael Jordan trophy as the league’s Most Valuable Player. It can be recalled that the NBA MVP award was renamed “The Michael Jordan Trophy” last year.
The candidates for MVP are Nikola Jokić, Denver Nuggets. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder. Luka Dončić, Dallas Mavericks. They are judged based on voting results from sportswriters and broadcasters.
The race is still ongoing but reports say that Jokic has the upperhand.
Rudy Gobert and Bam Adebayo are Wemby’s rivals for the Defensive Player of the Year award however, he is a sure winner of the Rookie of the Year. This is his first award as he has just debuted last October 25, 2023.
As of this writing there is no date yet of announcement but last year it happened on May 8th.
