Nagbigay ng mensahe si Miss Philippines Earth Eco-Tourism 2019 Karen Piccio sa mga kandidata ng virtual Miss Philippines Earth 2020.
Sa exclusive interview ng Star FM Baguio kay Karen, ibinahagi ng 23-year-old beauty queen na marami siyang natutunan sa isang taon bilang isa sa mga elemental queens ng pageant at nais niya rin itong iwan sa bagong batch at sa mga kokoronahan ngayong taon.
“My message for the girls— in every action they make or they do, make sure that these actions are things that they are about to do would be something that they wouldn’t regret in the future. Keep doing good deeds. Always stand your ground no matter what happens. Personally, I don’t have regrets looking back through the year. I always stood my ground. I stood firm on the things I believed in.”
Sa pagbabalik-tanaw ng pageant title-holder mula Maasin, Iloilo, sinabi nitong minsan ay hindi pa rin siya makapaniwalang isa siya sa mga nakapag-uwi ng korona noong nakaraang taon.
“I was always this girl who I thought was invisible, who always focused on her academics. I wasn’t into any of this. The whole year, it was like a shock to me that I actually won. I learned to take care of myself better. I will always be grateful for all these things.”
Samantala, inamin rin nito na nalulungkot siya sa nalalapit na pagpasa niya ng korona ngunit masaya siyang makapagbigay inspirasyon sa mga kandidata ngayon.
Tiwala rin ito sa galing ng mga kandidata ngayong taon at suportado niya umano ang mga ito.
“I feel sad. I’ve been reminiscing a lot lately, but at the same time, I feel inspired. I get to talk to with some of the candidates. I see their heart for service. I see that they really have good advocacies. I see that they really want it, that they are still hungry for it because they know they can do so much bigger when they win the crown. I’m in full support of that.”
Ibinahagi rin nito ang ilan sa kanyang mga plano kapag naipasa na niya ng korona.
“On top of my head right now is to keep painting. It’s what I love doing. It’s what makes me the most happy. It’s my passion ever since I was a kid. Also, I have this new found passion for cooking. I might take up law again.”
Nakatakdang ipalabas ang virtual coronation night ng Miss Philippines Earth sa July 5.
