Isa pang pulis ang binawian ng buhay dahil sa COVID-19 dahilan para umakyat na sa 126 ang total deaths sa Philippine National Police (PNP).
Ayon kay PNP Deputy Chief for Administration (TDCA) at ASCOTF Commander PLt.Gen. Joselito Vera Cruz, na ang nasawi ay isang 38-anyos na Police Staff Sergeant na nakatalaga sa Jaen Municipal Police Station sa Nueva Ecija.
Sinabi ni Vera Cruz, sumailalim ito sa RT-PCR test nitong Enero 13 pero nasawi rin kinabukasan sa Nueva Ecija Medical Center.
Napag-alaman na nakumpleto na ng pulis ang bakuna kontra coronavirus.
Batay sa kaniyang medical records na ang nasabing pulis ay mayruong acute respiratory failure secondary to community-acquired pneumonia at Chronic kidney disease.
Samantala, ayon naman kay PNP Chief General Dionardo Carlos, ang nasawing pulis ay naka work-from-home status simula ng pandemya.
” On January 13 while on their way to the hospital for his scheduled dialysis, he lost consciousness. He was then rushed to Nueva Ecija Medical Center and was diagnosed with stroke and declared brain dead. Laboratory tets also revealed that he was positive for Covid-19,” pahayag ni Gen. Carlos.
Nagpa-abot naman ng pakikiramay si PNP Chief sa pamilya ng nasawing police officer at siniguro na mabibigyan ng kaukulang tulong.
” I would like to extend my condolences to the bereaved family of our police officer and assure them that we will give all the assistance they needed,” wika pa ni Gen. Carlos.
Sa kabilang dako, nakapagtala ng 323 new cases at 503 new recoveries ng COVID-19 sa pulisya ngayong araw, January 19,2022.
Umabot na sa 46,291 ang total confirmed cases ng coronavirus sa PNP, kung saan 3,615 ang active cases.
