Nagpulong ang mga opisyal ng gobyerno, scientists, academics at ocean experts upang magpalitan ng kuro-kuro at makipagtulungan sa paghahanda ng Pilipinas para sa paglahok nito sa ikatlong United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC) na gaganapin sa Nice, France sa Hunyo 2025.
Pinangunahan kamakailan ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Maritime and Ocean Affairs Office ang inter-agency consultation meeting.
Kasama sa mga lumahok ang mga kinatawan mula sa Climate Change Commission, National Economic and Development Authority, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Philippine Statistics Authority, Department of Transportation, Department of Energy, Palawan Council for Sustainable Development, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Navy, ASEAN Center for Biodiversity, Department of Science and Technology-National Academy of Science and Technology, Department of Defense, DFA, key ocean experts, scientists and academics.
Tinalakay ng grupo ang iba’t ibang pamamaraan sa paghahanda para sa conference.
Layon ng UNOC na paigtingin ang aksyon para sa SDG 14 o ang conservation, protection and sustainable use of the ocean, seas and marine resources.
