Oscars 2020: ‘Dagsin’ hindi pa pormal na entry ng Phl

Inanunsyo ng Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) na hindi pa pormal na napipili ang pelikula na pambato ng Pilipinas para sa prestihiyosong 92nd Academy Awards o Oscars 2020.

Naglabas ng pahayag ang FAP patungkol sa mga naglabasang ulat kung saan nakalagay dito na nakapasok ang pelikulang “Dagsin” (Gravity) sa shortlist ng International Film Feature Category ng prestihiyosong academy awards.

“The movie Dagsin is among the movies that is being considered as a POSSIBLE ENTRY to the International Feature Film Category of Oscars and NOT THE COUNTRY’S OFFICIAL ENTRY YET,” saad ng director-general ng FAP na si Leo Martinez.

“The screening of the films being considered by a local screening panel approved by the Oscars will begin in September, to meet the deadline of the submission of the country’s film entry on October 1. It is only after October 1 then that we can declare an official Philippine film entry to the international film feature category of the Oscars.”

Pinagbibidahan ng mga batikang aktor na sina Tommy Abuel at Marita Zobel, umiikot ang pelikula sa istorya ng isang beterano ng World War 2 na nawalan ng pananalig sa Diyos.

Unang ipinalabas ang naturang pelikula sa Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival noong 2016.

Gaganapin ang 92nd Academy Awards sa Pebrero 9 sa Dolby Theater Hollywood, Los Angeles, California.
