MANILA – Nilinaw ng Office the Vice President (OVP) na walang ugnayan at intensyon ang tanggapan sa peace talks ng pamahalaan sa hanay ng National Democratic Front (NDF).
Pahayag ito ng OVP matapos kaladkarin ni Sen. Bong Go ang opisina ni Vice President Leni Robredo sa dikusyon ng usaping pang-kapayapaan ng gobyerno at komunistang grupo.
“The Office of the Vice President is not engaged, and has no intention of engaging, in direct peace negotiations with the NDF,” ani Vice Presidential spokesperson Barry Gutierrez.
Ayon sa tagapagsalita ng panglawang pangulo, kinikilala nila ang kahalagahan ng peace talks para ma-resolba ang ilang dekada nang hidwaan sa pagitan ng dalawang panig.
Dapat umano itong dumaan sa opisyal at pormal na proseso, bagay na hindi naman daw kasali ang OVP.
“While peace talks are crucial in resolving this decades long conflict, they must be conducted through official, formal channels that the OVP is not part of.”
“This has been the consistent position of the OVP following the suspension of the GRP-NDF peace negotiations, and it has not changed, contrary to the hysterical claims in fake news posts being spread aggressively on social media.”
Sa isang event noong nakaraang Biyernes, December 11, kinwestyon ni Go ang umano’y pangingialam ng OVP sa peace talks ng pamahalaan sa CPP-NPA-NDF.
Kasunod ito ng pag-aresto ng Philippine National Police sa journalist na Ann Salem.
“Ang tanong dyan, ano ba ang authority ng OVP when it comes to peace talks? Tandaan natin ang Presidente po ang commander-in-chief ng buong AFP. Kung makipag-usap po sila doon at di naman po sumunod,” ayon sa dating special aid ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte,
Pinayuhan ni Atty. Gutierrez ang senador na siguruhing tama ang mga impormasyon na kanyang bibigyan ng reaksyon.
Makabubuti umano kung susuriin muna ng mambabatas ang mga ulat na sasagutin, at hindi lang basta akusasyon ng “trolls” online.
“Senator Bong Go would do well to ensure that next time, he first checks that any “news” he is reacting to is true and accurate, and not based on some troll’s rantings on YouTube.”
