Hindi umano babalewalain ng kampo ni Pinoy ring superstar Sen. Manny Pacquiao ang American boxer na si Keith Thurman.
Sinabi ni Hall of Famer coach Freddie Roach, bagama’t medyo kinalawang si Thurman sa huli nitong laban, inaasahan niyang matindi ang ipapakita nito sa bakbakan nila ni Pacquiao (61-7-2, 39KOs) sa Hulyo 21 (Manila time).
Kasalukuyan din aniya nitong pinapanood at nire-review ang mga best fights ng WBA “super” welterweight champion at tinutumbok ang kanyang mga kahinaan.
“It’s a winnable fight but Pacquiao’s speed should be too much for him, All Manny has to do is pretty much let his hands go a little bit more,” wika ni Roach.
Kagaya ni Roach, tinatrato rin ng manager ni Pacquiao na si Sean Gibbons si Thurman (29-0, 22KOs) bilang isang mapanganib na kalaban.
Giit ni Gibbons, huwag daw palilinlang sa ipinakita ni Thurman sa naging bakbakan nila ni Josesito Lopez noong Enero dahil sa kagagaling lamang nito sa injury.
“We know the fighter Keith Thurman is, and this speaks to the greatness of the senator from the Philippines (Pacquiao) and his willingness to fight the best out there. Before Thurman was ever hurt, he was considered the best welterweight out there,†ani Gibbons.
Samantala, sa panayam ng Bombo Radyo sa boxing analyst na si Atty. Ed Tolentino, bagama’t magiging maganda ang tapatan nina Pacquiao at Thurman, posibleng nagsasayang lamang daw ng panahon ang eight-division world champion.
“Kaya ni Pacquiao ‘yung Thurman kasi mabagal, tsaka lately ‘yung mga laban ni Thurman parang nawala na ‘yung kanyang one punch knockout power mula noong nagkaroon siya ng sandamukal na injuries, naging inactive,” sambit ni Tolentino.
“This is a good fight, pero like I said it could be a waste of time, sapagkat hindi ito ang laban na gusto ni Manny Pacquiao para tapusin ang kanyang legacy,” dagdag nito.
