Pinayuhan ni Senator Manny Pacquiao si Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief Nicanor Faeldon na mag-leave muna sa trabaho habang kasalukuyang isinasagawa ang imbestigasyon ng Kongreso sa kuwestionableng good conduct time allowance (GCTA) law.
Ayon sa senador na ito ang nararapat na gawin ni Faeldon para hindi makaladkad sa kahihiyan si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte at ang kaniyang administrasyon.
Sinabihan pa nito si Faeldon na dapat ay mahiya ito sa Pangulo dahil siya ang nagtalaga sa kaniya sa puwesto.
“Besides, the president is unnecessarily dragged into this whole mess being the appointing authority. If Usec Faeldon truly respects the president, he must do the right thing. I’m pretty sure everything will work out for him in the end.”
Sa ngayon aniya ay maituturing na ang usaping “GCTA for sale” ay maituturing na “kuwentong barbero” dahil wala pang maipakitang anumang ebidensiya.
“I know that Undersecretary Faeldon is a good man and has served his country well but I really think that he can spare the president and this administration from embarrassment by taking a leave-of-absence,” ani Pacquiao. “This GCTA law should be reviewed and should only cover petty crimes. On the other hand, this controversy should already serve as a wake up call for Congress to finally approved re-imposition of death penalty on certain heinous crimes.”
