Tinawag ng Malacañang na hakbang tungo sa tamang direksyon ang pagbibitiw at pagreretiro ng 43 senior officers ng Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth).
Ito ay kasunod ng ipinatupad ni PhilHealth President and CEO Dante Gierran na board resolution na nag-aatas sa lahat ng mga senior officers na may Salary Grade 26 pataas na maghain ng kanilang courtesy resignation kasunod ng isyu ng kurapsyon na bumabalot sa ahensya.
Ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, nabigo raw ang ang dating pinuno ng PhilHealth na si Ricardo Morales na ipatupad ang nasabing resolusyon.
“We consider this latest development in PhilHealth a step in the right direction as this is in line with President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s directive to reorganize the state health insurer, make erring officials accountable and give the agency a fresh start,” wika ni Roque.
“We commend PhilHealth president and chief executive officer Gierran for his display of decisiveness,” dagdag nito.
Una nang nagbaba ng kautusan si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na dapat nang magbitiw ang mga opisyal ng PhilHealth na nasasangkot sa anomalya.
Sinasabing nasa 66 PhilHealth executives umano ang may Salary Grade 26 pataas.
