Malacañang suspended works in government offices today, Holy Wednesday starting 12:00 o’clock in the afternoon onwards.
Memorandum Circular No. 60 states that this will provide government employees full opportunity to properly observe Holy Thursday and Good Friday (18-19 April 2019) which are regular holidays, and to allow them to travel to and from the different regions in the country.
However, based on the memorandum signed by Executive Sec. Salvador Medialdea, “those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services.”
Also, the suspension of work in private companies and offices is left by Malacañang to the sound discretion of their respective employers.
