Umapela si Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant Rear Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan sa House of Representatives na tapusin agad ang imbestigasyon hinggil sa umano’y gentleman’s agreement sa pagitan nina dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte at Chinese President Xi Jin Ping kaugnay sa isyu sa West Philippine Sea.
Sa pagdinig ng House Committee on National Defense and Security kasama ang Special Committee on the West Philippine Sea.
Sinimulan na kasi ngayong araw ang pagdinig hinggil sa nasabing isyu.
Paliwanag ni Admiral gavan, kung papahabain pa ang imbestigasyon ng Kamara ay posible itong magdulot ng pagkakawatak watak sa mamayang Pilipino at maghatid ng kalituhan sa mga nakadeploy na tauhan sa ground.
“We cannot move forward the best we can if we have a divided people. We appeal that this hearing be concluded as the soonest possible time as this has the potential to divide the people and the potential to confuse us on the ground,” pahayag ni Rear Admiral Gavan.
Sa kabilang dako, inalmahan ng ilang kongresista ang hindi pagdalo ng mga dating opisyal ng Duterte administration sa pagdinig kanina.
Inihihirit din ni ACT Teachers Partylist Rep. France Castro na dapat maimbitahan sa pagdinig si dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
