Dinipensahan ni Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar ang kanilang coverage sa eleksyon ni Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco bilang House Speaker sa Celebrity Sports Plaza sa Quezon City kahapon.
Sa pagdinig ng Senado sa proposed budget ng ahensya, sinabi ni Andanar na ikino-cover nila ang mga istorya base sa kanilang newsworthiness.
Binigyang-diin din ng PCOO na hindi sila pumapanig sa alinmang polilical force.
“The People’s Television operates like a private corporation, like a government-owned and controlled corporation. We strive to catch up with the private media, we strive to be a professional agency,” wika ni Andanar.
“We cover everybody. We do not side with any political force so I am assuming that the GM (general manager) decided based on the newsworthiness of the story,” dagdag nito.
Sa panig naman ni PTV-4 General Manager Katherine De Castro, ang Radio-Television Malacañang (RTVM) ang nag-cover ng pagkakahalal kay Velasco.
Ang RTVM, na attached agency ng PCOO, ay ang official broadcast agency ng Malacañang na responsable sa television coverage at documentation ng lahat ng aktibidad ng pangulo.
